AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

You can have caffeine, alcohol, any pain medication, etc. as soon as you leave your appointment! YAY!

1. With clean hands, gently dab your brows with a damp (not soaking wet), clean, cotton round or paper. Your brows may ooze lymph (cloudy yellow substance) for the first 48 hours.

2. Allow eyebrows to completely dry before applying ointment (pat dry with a cotton round, paper towel, or air dry).

3. Once brows have fully dried, apply a thin layer of Aquaphor with a clean Q-tip or clean fingertips (rice size amount on each brow).

4. Repeat the above steps 2x per day for 10 days after service.

  • Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor if your brows start to feel noticeably tight. Apply by dabbing the Q-tip across the brow (a rice size amount). There shouldn't be a visible thickness to the Aquaphor, i.e. a thick barrier of Aquaphor.  Don't overdo it, it will draw the pigment out.

  • Do not soak your face underwater or allow the shower to spray directly on your face for 2 weeks. Water will draw the pigment out of the strokes. When showering, lather your hair slowly, then cup your hands over your brows to prevent water from spraying onto them. Do not put your face into the shower stream.

  • AVOID SWEATING on your face for 10 days. Sweating through or on the brows will expel pigment from the dermis, producing poor "patchy" results. Sweat can push the pigment out of the strokes. So no hot yoga, hot tubs, long showers, baths, steam rooms, saunas, or heavy cardio.

  • No underwater swimming and bathing for 4 weeks to avoid bacterial infection.

  • Avoid sun exposure during the first 4 weeks by using a physical barrier to block the sun (wear a hat and sunglasses). Apply sunscreen to the treated area when sun exposure is anticipated after the first 4 weeks.

  • DO NOT PICK, scratch, or rub any skin flakes or scabs. Allow them to fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring and premature loss of pigment.

  • Avoid sleeping on your brow area for the first 10 days.

  • Do not apply makeup or skin care products to the tattooed area for the first 2 weeks, you can get an infection.

  • Do not tint/dye the treated area the month following the procedure.

  • Do not thread or wax the treated area for 2 weeks.

  • Do not schedule facials, injections, or similar for the first 3 weeks. No massages the first 4 weeks.

LIP BLUSH

WHAT TO EXPECT

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • There may be moderate swelling, redness, and bruising for the first 3 days.

  • If you experience swelling, use an ice pack for no more than 15 minutes at a time to reduce swelling.

  •  During the initial healing period, there should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.  This usually takes place within the first 3 days.

  •  Expect the color to lighten up to 50-70% once the healing process is complete.

  •   Color may appear uneven at different stages of healing. Be patient. This is a process that does not yield immediate results.

  • Permanent makeup ink is not the same as body art ink, and by design, it does not last as long as body art ink. Permanent Makeup does fade and is expected to last 2 to 5 years before requiring a touch-up. Maintenance touch-ups are suggested for best results.

  • It can take 2 sessions prior to achieving the level of saturation you may desire.  Touch-ups are not included in the cost of the initial Lip Blush procedure.

PLEASE NOTE:

It is required that you wait a minimum of 4 weeks post-fillers in order to make a Lip Blush appointment.

If you are prone to cold sores, lip tattooing can cause outbreaks. We ask that our clients take their prescribed anti-viral medication a few days prior to their appointment and after the procedure to prevent any cold sores.
If you have an outbreak or any other type of scratch/acne, we ask that you reschedule your appointment.

It required that clients wait a minimum of 4 weeks post-fillers in order to book a Lip Bush appointment.

LIP BLUSH

BEFORE & AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:

Your lips cannot be dry for the appointment.  If they are dry we will need to reschedule and you will forfeit your deposit.  You may exfoliate 3 days before your appointment to remove any dry skin.  You can use a lip scrub or create your own using a little honey and brown sugar.  For the week leading up to the appointment you must moisturize your lips as much as possible (I recommend using Aquaphor).

• NO drinking any ALCOHOL 48 hours before your appointment

• NO aspirin or ibuprofen, Omega 3 or Fish Oil 72 hours prior to your appointment

• NO FILLERS, chemical PEELS, LASER treatments for at least 4 WEEKS prior to your appointment

• BRING HEADPHONES & bring a JACKET (it can get very cold)

• BE PREPARED to stay (laying down ) 2-3 hours for new brows and 1-2 hours for the necessary touch ups (and EAT before you come to your appointment)

• IMPORTANT If you are on your menstrual cycle you will be MUCH more sensitive and it is not recommended to book your appointment during that time

• NO GUESTS are allowed during the appointment

• RESCHEDULE if you're sick, as it is not fair for your tech to get exposed to your illness

• MASKS are required to enter our building at this time, and to be worn for the entire duration of the appointment

*IMPORTANT*
Cold sores are a risk of lip blush tattoo.  If you have had a cold sore in the past- we advise you to go to the doctor for an anti-viral medication prior to any lip procedure, to help avoid an outbreak.  Even if you have not had a cold sore before- I recommend all of my clients take L-lysine 2 weeks before the appointment and 2 weeks following the appointment to reduce the risk.

AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT:

Lips will feel swollen and very dry after your treatment. Apply ointment on lips several times a day. This should be done for at least 14 days post treatment. Do not allow lips to become dry. This may interfere with healed color. During the day if lips feel dry, apply a liberal amount of ointment. Just tap on skin and do not rub in.  Drink with a straw and never pick your lips.

Always use a clean Q-tip, not fingers to apply ointment to the lips area. This will reduce the risk of infection.

After lips are no longer tender to the touch they may become flaky. This is normal and is expected. Please do not pick or scratch at them. This may significantly reduce the amount pigment absorption. Avoid the sun and tanning beds pre and post procedure. Be sure to use a sun block once lips are healed. Do not use any Glycolic, Hydroxy or fruit acid products on lips. Avoid direct water pressure, pools and other bodies of water, until healed. You can resume wearing lipstick once lips are healed. Redness, swelling, tenderness, dryness are all common post treatment side effects and will dissipate in a short period of time. Avoid oily, salty, acidic foods and alcohol while healing.

Lips are a muscle and may require a touch-up session to complete the process of this procedure. Lips are unpredictable. Some clients will yield very strong healed lip color. Others will only heal with slight color uptake. This will vary on an individual basis. Clients with sun damage, scar tissue (from injury or fever blisters) and clients with implants may not have strong results. Hyperpigmentation can happen on any lip client without warning. If you have a history of Fever Blisters, Cold Sores or Chicken Pox, we advise you to go to the doctor or for an anti-viral medication prior to any lip procedure, to help avoid an outbreak. Follow all before and after instructions after all lip treatments. Lip retouch must be scheduled 30 to 45 days apart from initial season to help with color retention.

Lips heal in three stages: Too dark - Too light - Just right. This takes one month to happen. Please avoid any friction to lip area.

EYELASH EXTENTIONS

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Notify me via text or email (iconicbeautyandink@gmail.com) if you are already wearing eyelash extensions.

  • Remove all eye and face cosmetics and skincare, including foundation, Eye makeup, mascara, sunscreen, moisturizer, eye cream, eye serum, etc. and cleanse your lashes thoroughly prior arriving for your appointment.

  • If you normally wear contact lenses, wear or bring your eye glasses to your appointment

  • Notify me if you have any known allergies.

  • Be comfortable lying down for several hours with your eyes closed. I recommend that clients bring headphones to their appointment.

  • No guests will be allowed in the room during your appointment

POST APPLICATION CARE

Basic makeup application and normal lifestyle routine can resume after your eyelash extension application. To facilitate more flexible, longer-lasting bonds, and to minimize potential irritation or adverse reactions avoid the following activities within the first 24 hours:

  • Exposure to excessive steam or water

  • Exposure to excessive heat

  • Spray or airbrush tanning

Cleansing your eyelash extensions will make them last longer. Be sure to cleanse daily to remove residual makeup, oils, and debris. Use a clean lash styling wand or a clean, dry lint-free applicator to fluff and style your eyelash extensions into place.

The following activities will weaken adhesive bonds and result in premature eyelash extension loss:

  • Use of waterproof cosmetics on or near extended eyelashes, such as waterproof mascara and eyeliner

  • Use of mechanical or heated curlers

  • Excessive mascara application

  • Excessive exposure to friction

  • Excessive rubbing on extended eyelashes

  • Chemical treatments such as eyelash tinting or perming

Please see a trained technician to have your extensions removed.

To extend the life of your lashes, please schedule touch-ups every 2-3 weeks.

LASH LIFT & TINTING

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

  • Remove all eye and face cosmetics and skincare, including foundation, eye makeup, mascara, sunscreen, moisturizer, eye cream, eye serum, etc. and cleanse your lashes thoroughly prior arriving for your appointment. If you could avoid this for the 24 hour period leading up to your appointment the result will be optimal and the cleansing step of the treat will be easier on both the client and Lash Stylist.

  • Notify me if you have any known allergies.

  • Be comfortable lying down for 1 - 1.5 hours.

  • No guests will be allowed in the room for your appointment

POST APPLICATION CARE

  • Avoid excess hot water or steam on lashes for the first 24 hours.

  • Avoid shampoo, makeup, unapproved conditioners, unapproved makeup removers, creams, eye serums on the lash/eye area for 24 hours.

  • Do not rub or play with your lashes.

  • Book your fill every 4-6 weeks to keep your lashes full and gorgeous.

SALINE TATTOO REMOVAL

Post Care Instructions found below are of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE!

It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications, scarring and to achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.

1. KEEP THE AREA CLEAN and open to the air. Do not cover it with a Band-Aid or anything else, leave it open to the air. Air/oxygen provides good and faster healing. You should not be touching the area at all, but if you find yourself needing to, please make sure your hands are exceptionally clean.

2. CLEAN BY BLOTTING THE AREA with saline 3 to 4 times a day using a paper towel or gauze. NO ICE.

3. DO NOT SOAK the treated area in water. You can shower as normal but keep the area out of the shower spray the best you can and do not let the area stay wet for more than a few minutes. It is best to keep it dry but if you do get it wet, gently pat dry.

4. NO BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, TANNING, SUN EXPOSURE OR EXERCISE. NO EXCEPTIONS.

5. DO NOT disrupt the scabbing process (i.e. no picking, scratching, etc.) All scabbing needs to fall off naturally. If you force or pick a scab off, you will disrupt the process and possibly cause scarring. It is critical to keep the scabs on as long as possible to achieve optimum results.

6. TREAT THE AREA WITH TLC. DO NOT DO ANYTHING AT ALL THAT COULD CAUSE ISSUES OR PROBLEMS TO THE TREATED AREA.

7. ONCE ALL SCABBING HAS NATURALLY FALLEN OFF, apply one drop of vitamin E Oil 3 to 4 times throughout the day for a minimum of 4 weeks, or until the next lightening session. DO NOT start applying the vitamin E oil UNTIL all scabbing has naturally and completely fallen off.

It is our goal to keep the area as dry as possible until all scabs have naturally fallen off.  It is important to the process and integrity of the skin that 8 full weeks of healing take place before another lightening session can be done.

No exceptions, lightening and/or removing unwanted pigment is a long process and patience is required. This is true whether you are choosing a lighting product service or laser. Please be patient and give the process a fair chance to work. Expect visible and wanted results in 2 to 5 sessions. How many sessions are needed will depend on how saturated the pigment is, how deep it was implanted, and how much needs to be removed for the desired result. In many cases, only a percentage of the pigment needs to be lightened/removed, and then we can continue the correction process by color correcting or color shifting. In those cases where we have pigment misplaced or in an unwanted area, color correcting will not be an option, and removing as much of the pigment as possible will be our ultimate goal. Results cannot be foreseen, predicted, or guaranteed.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call me. If at any time, you have any green or yellow puss in the area of the removal, or any concerns at all during the healing process, please email Iconicbeautyandink@gmail.com or call me at (954) 682-5554.

The above Pre- and Post-Care for brows will affect the outcome of your service.

There is a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for those who fail to follow Pre- and Post-Care Instructions. Failing to follow the above instructions will result in Iconic Beauty and Ink denying your service and possibly future services. There are no implied or written guarantees, especially if you do not follow instructions!
